You are Not Forgotten

Standard

Whew.

Have you ever had one of those seasons where you wished there was a pause button so you could organize yourself a little bit?!

I have not forgotten you; I am just super busy. I’m leaving the country tonight, and scrambling around the house today packing.

It’s moments like this I wished my mom lived closer — she’s the ultimate packer.

So instead, I’ll settle for the Decades Dance Party playlist on Spotify and try to make the most of it.

… or take a nap and start again in a few hours!

See you again in a few weeks!

Southern Culture

My friend Valerie took this picture of the place we ate at Thursday night. Because it’s been a while since we’ve been in a small town (living in DC), we had to be creative with our choice for late-night food options. We stopped at a nearby gas station and noticed that this place was OPEN + had BBQ.

I’m from Michigan, so the land of BBQ, Sweet Tea, Bojangles, Sheetz, and Jack In the Box is new territory. Is it common to put cole slaw on pulled pork sandwiches? I cannot say I’ve ever done that before, but I did it twice this weekend while traveling to and from North Carolina for a wedding.

Anyone from the South want to represent and tell me what you love about your region of America?
