Work out your Calling

Standard

I read this post about calling recently and was greatly encouraged by it.

Jason is an extremely talented man… and he struggled in the same way I have in finding my calling. Just because you are passionate about something does not mean that it is your calling. It could be a hobby for you. There could be passions inside of you that will become stronger than what you assume is your main passion.

Here are a few things that will aid in finding your calling.

1. Get to know yourself. I cannot stress this point enough in your 20’s. Figure out what you like and what you do not like.

2. Do not be afraid to change the course. Quit the job. Find an internship (even if you are a college graduate).

3. Work on your character. I am currently in National Community Church’s Protege Program, and character development is the foundation of leadership. You will have plenty of opportunities to shape your character. There have been times when I look in the mirror and do not like who I have become. Make the choice to change. Or not.

All of life is working out who God has created us to be and how we can best love and serve God and others.
